A FAMILY has been reunited after ten years thanks to popular social networking website facebook.
Student Benjamin Glass received a message on his profile in December from a girl named Gemma who claimed she was his sister and that he also had another sister, Natalie.
At first the 33-year-old Multimedia Journalism student thought it was a hoax, but after messaging the girl back he discovered she was actually his half-sister as they share the same father.

Natalie, 23, also later contacted Ben and said that she remembered him from childhood and that her and Gemma, 19, would like the chance to meet him and Joanne.
Ben said: “I was completely gob smacked that I received a message from somebody claiming to be my sister.
“We didn’t know each other when we were younger because of family issues, but now we have found each other.
“I knew about Natalie – Dad had told me that I might have a half sister when I was about 12 – but I didn’t have a clue about Gemma.
“It’s amazing to suddenly have two half sisters and a niece. Me and my other sister Joanne – who I’ve always been close too – are over the moon. It has changed my family forever.
The family have been for a meal to get to know each other properly, and plan to get together again soon.
Ben said: “I was so nervous when we met for the first time, but we had exchanged texts leading up to when we met, so it made me a bit more comfortable.
“We all met up at my parent’s house and it was strange for my dad to have all his four kids under the same roof.
“My mum and dad split up briefly, and he had a relationship with their Mum. But my parents later got back together which explains why we have never had a relationship.
“I only use facebook for a laugh but this just goes to show how useful and life changing it can be.
“I have always been big brother to Joanne, but now I have three little sisters to worry about. It could be very stressful!”
