Foreign Language Exchange at Teesside

Teesside University international students organised language exchange event in Student Union earlier. Students from various countries attended and share their mother tongue among others.

Yasmin from Bangladesh said this event is very helpful and fun where they can learn more different languages and communicate with different nationality of people.

Language is our primary source of communication. Thats the only way we can share our ideas with others and get involved with people. Although there are thousands of languages in this world, English is the common language everyone speaks.

By learning foreign language it enables people to gain more understanding about their culture meanwhile improving communication skills. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills can be taught and assessed by language.

The importance of communication can be often overlooked. Even with the ability to communicate with each other. Misunderstandings happen.

Remember, communication is a two way street that should be embraced and not ignored. Believe it or not, some people can be arrogant to believe they can’t go to foreign countries without knowing anything of the language or culture of the people in the places they visit.

The importance of language is beneficial regardless if you do it for fun or for your career or even just for personal travel.
