New Female Sports Team Announced for Next Year

Student sport participation at Teesside University will increase further next year as a brand new female team will compete in the British University College Sport (BUCS) league.

Following a successful season in which the men’s side survived relegation from the top flight in their final game, Teesside University Volleyball Club will hope that their female team can achieve similar success next season.

This announcement means that Teesside will now be represented in the BUCS league by over 25  different sides.

The number of ladies playing volleyball at the University has increased by 80% from 2014.

The reason for the high increase was partly due to the female only sessions held every Tuesday, where newcomers to the sport could get involved in a fun friendly atmosphere.
