Teesside Unite Against Hate rally in Middlesbrough

Teessiders joined the Teesside Unite Against Hate group in the town’s Centre Square to wave placards and chant anti-Trump slogans.

Dave Smith, member of Teesside Unite Against Hate, wanted “to send a message to the British Government, that we reject their appeasement of Trumps policies”.

This was one of many protests taking place in our region and the organisers believe that this will be one of many over the next four years of the new 45th Presidents administration.

Within the first few days of President Donald Trump taking office, he signed an executive orders to enforce a 90-day travel ban on all residents from seven predominately Muslim countries – Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen – to stop “radical Islamic terrorists” from coming to America.

A US federal judge later made a ruling, overturning the travel ban and allowing normal vetting processes to continue.
